Production time is 3-10 Business days depending on volume of orders.

These are printed using top end 3D printers, not hobby machines. We use a smooth build plate, and have a uniform first layer surface EVERY time. No distortion, or print quality issues. We do not sell subpar quality items. We ship fast, if you receive an order with a defect, please contact us and we will correct it. We can also make carbon fiber as well as other textured vents per request.

We do NOT ship these with a backplate. A backplate is not necessary, the factory door jamb vents in the B pillar allow air to escape from the interior when the doors are closed. This allows a proper seal without sacrificing window blow out. With that said as with all custom vents when you wash your car, water can enter so you should be aware depending on the area where you live.

To make your purchase you have to make 3 selections, based on the model you want to receive. We have a lighting option, including color choice of lighting, a paint option, and a color filament option. All the filaments we use are ASA (see below for details).

The lighting option includes an LED strip with two face tape backing, you simply peel and stick it to the inside of the door jamb vent. There are two wires, a red and black, hook the black up to ground, and the red to a 12V source that comes on with your door jamb striker or ignition, or wired to a switch. If you wire these to a 12V battery source the power will always remain on and it will drain your battery.

These items will ship in their bare form, unless you choose a painted option. There are painted and filament color options. They are both notated as to what they are. For the painted options, just the top most visible surfaces are painted. This way there will be no chipping during installation. For painted models please do not overtighten the retaining screw as you can deform/chip the paint.

1. What's the difference between ABS and ASA?

ASA is a modified version of ABS that contains an additional acrylate component, which improves its weather adaptability and UV resistance.

ASA retains the impact resistance and processability of ABS while providing better resistance to fading, yellowing, and degradation from sunlight exposure.

2. What is the difference applications between ABS and ASA?

ASA is ideal for outdoor applications, such as automotive exterior parts, signage, and outdoor equipment, thanks to its enhanced weather resistance and color stability. ABS is a versatile material with excellent mechanical properties that is commonly used for indoor applications.

3. What are the similarities between ABS and ASA?

In terms of physical and mechanical properties, both exhibit good impact resistance and high tensile strength, with almost the same levels of strength, toughness, and stiffness.

Lucid made designs is not responsible for the mis-wiring of your door jamb vents LED strip. Professional installation is recommended. We test every set before shipping, we will not replace LED strips that have been improperly wired and shorted out. Any painted items may require an extra 2 days processing for paint curing before shipment.

* Painted choices include base color (color selection) and also clear coat. This is automotive clear sprayed from a gun. The price is priced according to materials and labor involved. We do not paint every day, we paint every two weeks depending on order volume. Choosing a painted option will delay the order processing time.
